Best of Xbox Game Pass – Gears of War: Ultimate Edition

Let's go down a ruined road of memories to a console generation where grey and brown were the brightest colours. The Xbox 360 has been out all year and doing well, with several games managing to turn over a million copies. As for me, I was finally looking forward to continuing my old Playstation 2 and joining a new generation of consoles with their glossy graphics. As the owner of PS2, the PS3 was naturally tempting - I have used to the games already, after all, but the price tag was too big. The Xbox 360 looked good, but nothing of it stood out to me. Then Epic Games and Microsoft unveiled their new game, Gears of War, and suddenly the choice became clear. It was a good decision because the Xbox 360 era was glorious.

Revisiting the first game in the series gives a reminder of how the tone started differently. Gears of War still has some amazing moments, but it also treats the Locust like a monster and loves the dark. The gears of World War II became bigger and worse and stopped the shocking vibrations because for both the players and the locusts there were no more terrifying monsters hiding under the bed. We killed too many at that time. In addition, it is difficult to be intimidated when you are playing like a man with a chainsaw pistol.

A good example of this awesome style is the stage where you walk the streets at night, surrounded by a flying Kryll. Get out of the light and these flying creatures will eat you alive. It is a stage designed to be thick and dependent on the horrible situation of your enemy. Or there is a time when you meet Berserker for the first time and you have to fight the blind beast.

Sometimes the latest games tried to recapture the horrible taste but did not hold on to it for long. It’s interesting to think what kind of series we might have gotten if the Gears of War 2 retained the original tone and tried to keep the Grasshopper feeling like something out of the creature’s mind. I would love to see a spin-off that includes unarmed civilians and military training for the Gears, and instead, I have to hide and be smart to avoid predators.

Shooting based on the old cover holds very well. You may not agree at all, but I still think no one else has been able to match or skip the Gears of War cover program. That smoothness is combined with the feeling of heaviness as it hits the walls… .is complete blood, and it only got better in the original trilogy. Well, the cover based on the cover was an overused mechanic, but when the Gears of War was introduced it was not widely used. The gears may not have been invented, but we did not help them become popular because of the way they were used. You can't forget the signature Lancer, a vicious weapon that lets you cut through locusts if you get close enough.

Behind this beautiful and terrifying shoot is a love story between the brutal Marcus Fenix, his best friend Dom, the scornful Bair and COLE COACH, BABY! WOOOOOO !. Some people hated the dude-bro attitude, but I personally enjoy the folly of it all. These characters are flesh slabs wearing large weapons and enemies that tear at the half with chains and chains, and bombastic, a kind of cheesy action hides real clever writing, strong character work and a few emotional rhythms. I swear if you don't cry in Gears of War 2 and 3, you shouldn't be human. Is it among the greatest man-made projects? No, but it's as fun as shit.

Ultimate Edition at Game Pass means you get a real game with a clear development that makes it sharp to watch. Although it is a good time now, Gears of War is not something to be taken lightly and when it was first introduced in 2006 it was great to watch. The upgrades do not make it look like a modern game, of course, but there are still good times to look at and a solid art design.

When the original trilogy wrapped up the Gears of War it lost much of its title. The franchise cheered for a while before being reborn under the control of The Coalition, which revived the series with a fourth game back on XXXX. The Gears of War needed to come back and swing hard, but alas the Gears of War 4 were right. Certainly not bad, but it is not good, either. Gears 5 (now out of the “War,” for some reason) has done much better and is a bloody smart game in itself. There is a sense of reconstruction, however, and the series does not feel as big and important as it once did.

Maybe that’s not right for me, though. The Gears of War was the biggest reason for my choice to opt for the Xbox 360 over the PS3 back in the day. The next two games were great events for me, and when Gears of War 3 ended the story I had to take a moment and think about the same thing we all do when we finish a landmark TV series or book; now? What do I do now? What is life without this? The new Gears game could not hit the same thing, but is it just because they are not so good or is it because of my passion? Probably a second one.

No matter, the Gears of War should not be re-visited whether you are an existing fan or someone who wants to jump into the series. Sure, you can start with Gears of War 4 and get out of there, but do yourself a favour and at least get into the first game. It is worth it.
